Choosing a Variation of Poker

A range is a set of hands that are appropriate to play based on the player’s position, the number of available cards, and the overall strategy. Some ranges are more restrictive than others. Some players may use different hands in passive and aggressive situations, while others may cap their open-raising ranges from SB.

While Texas Hold’em is perhaps the most popular form of the game, other variants include Omaha, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Five Card Draw.
